My art has been that of a flaneur, observing life using varied media and themes both personal and political and can be seen at www.axisweb.org/p/maryfletcher and on vimeo, https:vimeo.com/444283778, including me talking about my art.
Music and dance are important themes to which I repeatedly return. I like to draw during performances, sometimes in the dark, and then sift the results to use in various ways. I believe working on the spot gets something of the excitement, rhythm and spontaneity into my celebration and my own performance of art.
Some of my dance works were shown in an exhibition at Canterbury , Kent University, in ‘Capturing Movement’ a selected show with several artists including Blek le Rat.
